Arrived at Newquay for the beginning of the 2006 year at about 12.15pm on Saturday, shortly followed by John and Ann and were in the clubhouse by 1 o'clock joined by Clive,Jayne and their visiting guests Rob and Sara. What a great afternoon although the rugby didn't go quite to plan a lot of fun was had by all (although it must be said Ann did look a bit green about the gills from the previous night)
Now spending all day in a pub is not typical caravan fayre but not a bad start to the year and given the fact the next day was so bitingly cold, nobody ventured outside the walls until it was time to set sail on Sunday afternoon, apart from the 5 seperate vists to different shops as the caravans food stocks are not yet at optimum levels that is. So after watching England take a pasting from the French, which was almost as much fun as Saturday, everyone took the snow covered roads through the Brecon Beacons home.
Next weekend promises much of the same with the finale to the Six nations, although depending on whether Leanne has delivered the new caravan member, not so sure who will make the trip accross Mid Wales - still no news to report on that front.
An odd weekend in many ways- not least the fact that of the 3 bottles of wine, 20 bottles of beer and sloe port taken - not one drop was drunk at all and that is something never experienced in Caravan history to my knowledge.
Well a good start - old aquaintences and friendships renewed - tune in next week for more caravan news.
