Week 24 / 25 Hectic

Blogs coming in two week patches now as our visits to the caravan become slighly less frequent. No caravan in week 24 as loads of things for us to do - finally got a new car after much searching - thanks to Uncle Mile who put me off the Vectra we were going to buy and me and Amanda are now the proud owners of a new Ford Mondeo Silver and very nice it is too. But to the big story of the week as Bronwyn, inheritting her mothers cleverness gene, does brilliantly at her GCSE's - A's and A stars everywhere - congratulations lovely girl - at least you got the handsome gene from your father :0) - a huge chinese sit down meal in Blackwood, at which Bronwyns boyfriend Gary joined us, followed to finish off a stressful but eventful week.

The bank holiday soon arrived and new car filled up with Petrol we headed off for West Wales on Saturday morning as Bronwyn celebrated with her friends in Cardiff the night before, to find that everyone in Newquay had trimmed up the van with balloons and banners to welcome in the family genius (even though I thought the party should have been for Bronwyn).

Jonathan and Leanne are coming to the end of their summer holiday in the caravan and as usual it is a fairly hectic time when we're all together. The men eventually made it up the club to watch some rugby and six pints and a sleep later we were all partying with Clive and Jane joining us until 2 in the morning.

With a full caravan sleeping arrangements are somewhat different, with me and Amanda in the front room on a blow up bed and Jonathan on the setee. Not much sleep is had to be honest - and in the morning Morgan arrives to get everyone up with bleary eyes and a less than healthy complexion (us that is not Morgan) So later on once everyone had recovered we headed over to the Teifi Marshes where Morgan joined Amanda, the girls and I to get some fresh air. Morgan is now a fully fledged birdwatcher although driving round the hides in his bike under peoples binoculars is not the most professional approach to the hobby and I will have to take him under my wing to explain the finer points in the future. Later on everyone else made their way to Cardigan even Jonathan who is a bit of a night owl and rarely sees the sun before dinner time (or at all for that matter) from what I can see of it, and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon together. Stocked up with alcahol and meat its now time to BBQ - which again was a lot of fun with Ann and Em popping over for a couple of hours with intelectual drunken chat the order of the day.

Later we retired inside to watch a film which lasted for about 15 minutes before we all crashed out exhausted. This was until I was woken in the middle of the night by someone shouting outside and this in turn left me at the mercy of Jonathan who by now was in full snoring symphany mode. Boy that boys a good snorer.

So with even less sleep than the night before we eventually make it out on Monday morning for a ramble around the lanes with John and Ann and a pint in the pink pub before making our way to Aberystwyth for dinner out, where later we are joined by Jonathan and Leanne who are on the verge of making the trip home after their weeks hols and right on queue here comes the torrential rain - but to be fair it hasn't been a bad bank holiday at all.

I stayed for the night and watched a few films after everyone else had left before leaving in the morning with Amanda and the kids set to enjoy one last week of freedom before they join the rest of us in wage slavery land once again.

Looks like the rain is set for next weekend but we live in hope.
