Week 6 - Easter

What a great weekend this was - probably the best so far. Started with me and Amanda going to the van without the kids on Thursday night - thats the first time since Bonwyn was born we've had a weekend away on our own believe it or not - back to the main plot - arrived at around 9pm and spent the evening up the club listening to the music and having a few sociable drinks - just the two of us, awwww nice. Next day off to Cardigan and had a meal in the Grosvenor in the lovely sunshine before wandering about the Teifi marshes - quality time.

Friday night Ann, John and Bethan arrive and have a quiet drink before bed. The next day we all upsticks to Ynyshir which is always interesting

I actually think Bethan enjoyed herself yomping about the mountains and rivers for once - this was all until we were heading home when John decided to go accross country the final 300 yards , through the bushes and undergrouth like David Attenbrough until Bethan ripped her favourite jeans on a fence - she was not happy.

Bethan before the Jean nightmare

Bethan, pacified with the promise of McDonalds made it back to base with the rest of us and a night of films and wine ensued.

Sunday morning me and Amanda returned to Blighty to pick up Bronwyn after her concert in Cardiff, which she enjoyed and returned to the caravan to meet some suprize visitors.

Ann and Mike came to Newquay in the afternoon and we eventually persuaded them to stay after sampling the delights of the peach (formerly pink) pub as part of our afternoon stroll

After returning to the van we all went up the owners club with Jane, Clive and Leanne (Powell not Brain) and under the guidance of the men, directing operations from the snooker room, the women, through a covert network of phone texting and sending runners to the snooker room, won the quiz and enjoyed a bottle of Moet Chandon as the spoils of victory.

The next day after a full and healthy bacon and eggs we made our way to Bwlch Nant yr Arian to show Ann and Mike the kite feeding

What the in colour in bird watching is today and what its not

Its always cold in that part of the world - and this day was no exception although the feeding frenzy is so interesting with these beautiful birds - no one seemed to mind.

Saying goodbye to Bwlch we headed home for the girls to finish off the customary bottle(s) of wine and everyone to find the last vestiges of food in the caravan before leaving Amanda, Bronwyn and Bethan to chill out whilst the remainder of the wage slaves head back to the valleys to return to normal life, for a few more days at least.
