Week 15 - Beast of Bont

The Yeti , Loch Ness Monster or a decent English Rugby team - whats the common link? Answer - none have ever been caught on camera as irrefutable evidence of their existance.

Here we see another modern day legend only whispered about at evening barbeques or veranda drinking sessions but never before captured on film.

Bronwyn and Bethan do dishes

I'm typing that once more in case I never get to write about it again - Bronwyn and Bethan do dishes - there said it.

A strange weekend this one- no one was planning to make the journey as Ann and John had gone to London for Lucys daughters christening and Amanda and I were not planning anything as Bronwyn and Amanda had themselves planned a girly day in Cardiff clothes shopping for Bronwyns iminant trip to Venice. But after Saturday turned out to be so blisteringly hot a late- 5PM change of mind on Saturday evening and we were winging our way down to Newquay with Bronwyns boyfriend Gary joining us for the first time (which oddly coincided with Bronwyns lack of Caravan moaning for the first time in ages).

However, by the time we had got to Newquay the temperature had dropped 10 degrees although it was still warm enough for me and Amanda to sit outside with the patio heater on and have an evenings chat and bottle of wine.

The following morning - despite the fact that we had bought loads of barbie supplies, the sun did just not want to play ball and it was a fairly miserable affair which came as something of a shock after the great weather we've had lately. Why it was such a shock though I'm not sure really as we Welsh must be the most rain soaked people on the planet usually - but big disappointment it was.

Bronwyn and Gary went for a walk along the beach whilst Amanda, Bethan and I, after fathers day shopping in Aberaeron took a trip into Newquay to sit on the harbour with an ice cream and watch the dolphins before finishing an indoor meat fest and tavelling back home in the evening.

A weird weekend then made even more strange by the fact that none of our friends and neighbors had made the journey either, although Ann and Em did show up just before we left but it was as if everyone had overdosed on caravan over the last few hectic weeks and needed the break. Anyway - not sure what next weekend holds in store - the weather no doubt will have a huge part in everyones plans but for the meantime another 5 days hard slog to get through before we have to think about it.
