Week 27 - Cream Crackered

Didn't make it to the caravan last week as Aunty Cath sucked up the last of the summer sunshine but eventually found our way down West on Saturday. I'm not sure what it is but since the summer holidays I feel constantly tired - even Amanda succumbed to the malaise and the 2 of us just fell asleep early Friday and just couldn't face the drive - this was after last Friday going out for a huge Chinese again with Ann and John and my parents in Blackwood, back to our place and again just had to go to bed - old age?

Anyway aside from my rip van Winkle stories- after we eventually got to the van on Saturday which was a lovely day we discovered Ann and John had disappeared sloe berry picking in Cardigan and what a huge crop there is this year- every berry baring tree or bush seems to be laden with berries- whether this is the sign of a hard winter to come or just one full of gin drinking who can tell?

Amanda and I eventually made our way to Cardigan to get some fresh air and had a pint outside one of the riverside pubs in Cardigan before walking over to the Teiffi Marshes where we had missed Ann and John but did get to see the elusive King Fisher a few times again. This is a lovely place when the wethers nice and at this time of the year peaceful to boot. Not finding Ann or John we returned to the caravan where we spent some time chatting before- yes you guessed it back to bed before tea - I just can't shake it off - even worse was when I did come round and got up around 9 ish I had a horrendous headache- so Food and bed by 9.30 - God what is happening to me?

The next morning I walked in to the living room to survey the empty wine bottles from the night before before making out for the beach for a stroll on my own. This is my favourite time in Newquay - deserted beaches and warm but not boiling sun. Returned later to a lovely dinner then back to the beach for another walk with Amanda before returning just before the heavens opened and, well that was it really.

An odd weekend if the truth be told. Just couldn't seem to get back into caravan life and now torn this week as whether to fight the Friday fatugue and drive down to make the most of Saturday or just chill out and take things as they come on Saturday - it just seems one of those weeks to be honest.

Tune in next week for some mor......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzz
